A limited space doesn’t mean easier cleaning access. The cleaning list is similar, but you cannot afford to purchase specific cleaning agent for each item. You need to learn some hacks and take alternative items to do the job.
1. BABY OIL FOR STAINLESS STEEL
It is possible to have stainless steel furniture in a small house. You could pick the smaller size or even order customize item from the store. This material is chosen for its sturdy nature and easy cleaning properties. After cooking, you could simply snatch the wipe cloth and clean the stainless-steel surface.
Do you know that the stainless furniture will be blurry if you keep repeating that cycle? Dipping the cloth in water or dish soap may help a little, but they might also leave residue on it. If you want the shine back, then you will need baby oil. Splatter the baby oil on stainless surface then pick soft rag to rub it.
2. MINI STEAMER FOR MICROWAVE
For house member’s convenience, a microwave in the kitchen is a must. It saves cooking time for busy people. They could grab instant food, heat it for several minutes and enjoy the meal. How many house doesn’t have cutting board? It is important tools for cooking; you cut veggies, meat and sometimes spices on it. Nowadays many companies produce different types of cutting board for different ingredients. Unfortunately, only few customers pay attention and switch their board when working on different items.
In the other words, one cutting board is used for all. Just like microwave case, the smell will mix together. It will be even worse for plastic and wood cutting board. Next time when you clean them up, use a mixture of salt and lemon. Sprinkle salt generously on the board and use half lemon to rub. Then, you can rinse it under running water.
4. TOOTHPASTE FOR CARPET STAINS
Do you notice the stain on your carpet? You might not see it until one of your guests point it out for you. Once the stain is seen, it is not possible to unsee it. You have two choices; cover it up or clean it. If the stain stays at the corner, it might be covered, but if it locates in the middle, then you need to clean it.
Grab your toothpaste from the sink. Bring also an old toothbrush. Cover the stain with the toothpaste, then scrub it. Do it gently in circle motion. Rinse the stain spot with water. Repeat the process until the stain is barely seen.
5. BAKING SODA AND VINEGAR FOR TOILET
Among all places, toilet is probably your biggest enemy. The smell and the spot in the toilet are hard to clean. You need to work extra hard to reach all the nooks. This is your reason to skip bathroom cleaning day, which makes the smell worse and the stain stuck even harder.
You have an option to eliminate both problems without working too hard. Bring a cup of vinegar, hot water and half cup of baking soda. Spray some on your toilet seat and throw the rest to the toilet. Let it sit for a while, around five to ten minutes. Flush the toilet and wipe your toilet seat.
6. ESSENTIAL OIL AND DISH SOAP FOR SINK
Even a small house has kitchen sink and sometimes a washstand. Both of them are the other challenging furniture to clean. Since they are often used and exposed to moisture, many spots and stain could form on their surfaces. As the result, the shine is slowly missing.
There is one way to make it glistening without using commercial products. For the mixture, you will need baking soda, lemon, essential oils and dish soap. You just need few drops of each to make the solution. Spread it on kitchen sink and washstand surface using sponge. Let it be for 10 minutes. Rinse with water and you will get shining sink.
7. LEMON OIL AND WHITE VINEGAR FOR WOOD FURNITURE
Who could resist some wood furniture in the house? It is timeless and leaves good impression for the guests. For regular cleaning, you need to clean the dust and dirt that may accumulate on its surface. To keep the natural wood glow, you will need more effort.
First option would be commercial products, if you have time to read the classification on the label. Second option is using alternative cleaner. You only need lemon oil and white vinegar. Make a solution with 1: 1 ratio. Dip a clean and soft cloth into the solution and use it to wipe the wood surface.
8. UNDILUTED VINEGAR FOR HARD WATER STAIN
Any area that often exposed to water and moisture has high chance to get hard water stain. This stain will be formed even faster if the water used has different temperature, such as cold and hot. For instance, the affected area is shower cube, mirror above the washstand and many more. Wiping the surface with water only won’t help much.
You will need something stronger and longer time to clean it. Don’t worry, the tool and solution are not hard to find. You could even use yours without buying a new one. Bring over undiluted vinegar and paper towels. Dip the paper towel slowly into the vinegar and make sure it is covered evenly. Wrap the soaked paper towel on the hardwater stain. Leave for a night. On the next day, you could rinse and wipe the vinegar paper towel.
